Non-surgical cosmetic procedures are a less costly alternative to the traditional surgical counterparts. The only downside of the non-surgical methods is that the results are not very dramatic, they are subtler and lean towards natural. Also, these procedures cater to a certain age limit, people having initial to moderate signs of ageing are the ideal candidates for these treatments. People having advanced signs of ageing do not respond much to these procedures and require surgical methods to treat the signs of ageing. Also, the non-surgical cosmetic procedures are irreversible and need to be redone to maintain the results.
Reasons:
- Market saturation: the number of doctors and aestheticians performing the treatment in an area dramatically affects the cost of the procedure. Both these things are inversely proportional to each other because the cosmetic doctors compete with each other for the patients. If the doctors are in a lesser amount than the patients, the cost of the treatment would be automatically high. On the other hand, if the number of patients is smaller than the doctors, the procedure would cost lower.
- Experience and expertise: the doctors who have undertaken Botox injection training and had a lot of experience with them usually cost more than the doctors who might be trained but just starting their career in the aesthetic industry. The doctors who are qualified, typically perform the procedure more efficiently and are able to get better results than the opposite.
- Number of procedures: the number of sessions required to get the optimum and desired results also affect the cost directly.
There are other variables which affect the cost of the procedure. When a patient pays for the treatment, he is not only paying for the vial of Botox. He is also paying for the surgeon’s expertise and facility management.
Safety first:
In the majority of cases, the cost of Botox treatment is worth it. If searched online, or in local newspapers, one will be easily able to find DIY Botox kits or people who offer discounted Botox deals. We are not saying that every transaction is shady, but majority of them are. If a doctor or an aesthetician is compromising on the cost of the treatment, then he must be cutting corners to do so. Similarly, the DIY Botox kits are another dangerous thing rotating in the market. People are most ignorant of the fact that Botox is a fatal neuro toxin which if administered freely can lead to facial paralysis or worse stroke. The trained doctors have a very comprehensive knowledge of the facial anatomy and the correct dilution of the Botox required for anti-ageing treatments. Their experience is the reason they charge more for Botox, and if we see it in this light, we will realise that the cost of the Botox is worth it. But it’s a patient’s responsibility to find out the credentials and the past experiences of the doctor before booking an appointment.
